Policy Backed by Data. Advocacy Backed by Youth.

Seen & Heard's youth policy advocacy work is built on a single nonpartisan standard and three clearly defined pillars. This page explains how the framework operates and how your organization can align with it.

One Needle on Our Policy Compass: Children

Every position Seen & Heard takes passes one test: does this help or hurt children? Not a party platform. Not an ideological checklist. One operative question, applied without exception to every issue at every level of government.

This is not a position statement subject to revision. It is written into the organizational identity of both our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) structures. The result is a nonpartisan children's policy organization that donors, policymakers, and partners can rely on to stay exactly where it says it is. Federal investment in children is not a left issue or a right issue. It is a question of whether the 25% of this country with no vote gets a seat at the table.

Our policy positions draw on established federal budget research, including the Children's Budget 2025 published by First Focus on Children, to ensure every stance is grounded in data rather than preference.

Joy

Investing in the programs, spaces, and experiences where young people build community, pursue what they love, and exercise their right to play, rest, and joy.

If Your Work Puts Kids First, We Belong Together

Seen & Heard's partnership model is built on one criterion: mission alignment. Not organizational size. Not budget. Whether your work puts young people at the center of what you do.

Current partners include First Focus on Children, Riley's Way Foundation, District C, and Upstream Works — organizations working across policy research, youth leadership, and civic engagement. The range reflects the breadth of the partnership model: broadly aligned around child welfare, not narrowly focused on a single issue or program type.
